Want a specific example? Some traditional multivitamins may not contain certain nutrients like omega-3 DHA, because it can be difficult and costly to include in a multivitamin with other nutrients. Our convenient 2-in-1 formulation process makes it possible—and our omega-3 DHA is vegan, too. (It's sourced from microalgae, FYI.)
We take that 2-in-1 approach for our multivitamin formulas—and on that note, the Ritual fam is growing rapidly. After starting with our Essential for Women 18+ formula (followed by our best-selling Essential Prenatal), we've expanded to life stages ranging from postmenopause and postpartum to men, and teens.
Micro, meet macro.
Micronutrition—that is, supporting your vitamin and mineral needs—is important to us. But when we talk about addressing nutrition gaps and eating a balanced diet, we can't ignore macronutrients like protein, carbs, and fat. It's a big reason why we launched Essential Protein for three different life stages—no matter how healthfully we eat, protein gaps can still happen, and those needs can evolve over time. We formulated our plant-based Essential Protein with pea protein and methionine to create a complete amino acid profile—as well as choline, a methionine helper ingredient that also supports brain health.*
Bottom line? We think this daily Ritual is something worth sharing with the whole family.
The first visible supply chain of its kind
We source key nutrients carefully, in ideal and high-quality forms. And true to our Made Traceable™ promise, we make it our mission to lift the curtain to our formulation process—showing you how we source our ingredients, why they're there, and how the finished products are verified.
A good example of this approach in action is Folate. You’ll often see folate's synthetic form, Folic Acid, in supplements instead of folate itself. This can be problematic, as up to one-third of people can't efficiently utilize Folic Acid due to gene variations—and some people don’t even know if they have that gene variation to begin with. That's why Ritual uses a bioavailable form of folate called 5MTHF, sourced from our supplier Gnosis, based in Italy. (You can meet them here.) Nutrient forms matter, and that's just one example of how we aim to take the guesswork out of multivitamins.*
Above all else, our in-house research and development team works tirelessly to ensure that we're at the cutting edge of the latest science—from poring over thousands of studies to create those lifestage-specific formulas we talked about, to considering nitty-gritty details like dietary preferences and genetic considerations (like the folate scenario mentioned above).
