At Ritual, we talk a lot about bridging nutrient gaps in people’s diets. But that means we can’t overlook one of the biggest ones of all: While up to 40% of food is wasted in the US every year, more than 1 and 10 households are food insecure. That’s math we can’t get behind—which is why we’re a proud partner of Food Forward, a non-profit organization working to fight hunger and food waste in our backyard of Southern California.¹,²
Meet Food Forward
With the help of staff and thousands of volunteers across the Los Angeles area, Food Forward rescues fresh fruits and vegetables from backyard fruit trees, orchards, farms, farmers markets, and wholesale produce vendors, preventing this nutritious food from going to waste. This food is then reallocated to families in need through the over 350 local hunger relief organizations that Food Forward works with.
